Frequently Asked Questions.

What are your fees?

Summit Psychology fees are comparable to other doctoral level psychologists in the Los Angeles area. The cost of your treatment depends on your unique needs and the service/length of session you are seeking. Please set up a free 30-minute consultation to understand more about our services and rates.

Do you accept insurance?

Summit Psychology is an out-of-network provider with most PPO insurance plans. Payment is made after each session and then you can choose whether you want to submit an insurance-ready claim to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Reimbursement rates vary across plans, but typically after meeting your deductible insurance covers 40-70% of the session cost.

If I want to call my insurance in advance, what do you recommend I ask them?

Summit Psychology is committed to helping you understand your coverage so that you feel comfortable making the financial commitment to therapy. Helpful questions to ask include:

  • Does my plan include out-of-network coverage for mental health?

  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?

  • What is my out-of-network deductible for mental health? And what portion of that deductible have I met this year?

  • What is your usual rate for a 50-minute individual psychotherapy session (CPT Code: 90837) for a licensed clinical psychologist in Los Angeles?

  • What percentage of a session with an out-of-network provider do you cover?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Do you offer a sliding scale?

At this time, Summit Psychology offers a sliding scale to a limited number of clients based on financial need. Please reach out to discuss your financial situation and whether there are currently openings for sliding scale clients.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is taken after every session. Types of payment currently accepted include; cash, check and Venmo.
